The following is work from the Digitally Generated Morphology course I teach at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California.
The seminar introduces students to 3ds Max. The students are asked to analyze the structure, form and organization of an artificial or natural object as it behaves and responds to a context. They design digital components with similar properties and formal attributes. They test the limitations and potential of these components using a variety of advanced digital tools.
