Designed by architect Cristián Izquierdo this remarkable House in Morrillos Chile is made entirely in pinewood. In a seasonal cabin constructed to accommodate up to three couples the exposed expansive pinewood offers a clean verging on sterile environment. And yet the result is both inviting and engaging.
As the day passes and seasons wax and wane the interior changes ever so subtly because of varying natural light even as the rest of the home remains distinctly minimal and stoic. Sporadically used arm wooden surfaces gently interrupt this concrete monotony while blue accents make a rare appearance in the bedroom.
It was Architects EAT who decided to give the residence a façade unlike any other with a white aluminum screen that keeps away prying eyes and helps shape a more intimate entrance zone. It also preserves a sense of mystery as one is greeted by a blue front gate lovely grasscrete hanging plants and a serene ambiance.
The large modern residence is as polished on the outside as it is on the inside. A careful blend of black and white shapes the exterior of the house with a wooden box-style extension adding textural contrast.
The all-white theme is continued in the bedroom with twin balconies and a small bathroom completing the exquisite makeover.
