Designed by architect Cristián Izquierdo this remarkable House in Morrillos Chile is made entirely in pinewood. In a seasonal cabin constructed to accommodate up to three couples the exposed expansive pinewood offers a clean verging on sterile environment. And yet the result is both inviting and engaging.
The condo is just a stone’s throw away from the Stanley Park and a few blocks away from the hip English Bay beach and with one bedroom and one bathroom it is indeed a perfect place for an urban couple.
Designed by Studio Miti for those who wish to live in the lap of nature the in Thailand does precisely that as the entire landscape surrounding a series of four treehouses on the lot is turned into a bustling and lush green tropical jungle. And it is amidst this dense canopy that the gorgeous eco-friendly and serene wooden residence dwell!
The most striking feature of the house is the wonderful use of various bright colors which add another layer of intrigue to the overall setting. A bright blue couch live-edge coffee table and pops of light pink welcome you in the living room.
This part of the project was designed keeping in mind the needs of one of the clients who is an artist and an art collector. This clever placement of individual units creates a central courtyard which brings the outdoors inside.
Building the perfect home is all about finding specific spatial solutions that work with each lot and ensuring that these ideas sync seamlessly with the needs of the homeowners as well. It is an act that requires a careful balance between form and functionality; a balance that seems to get spot on!
It is this blank canvas that has been used creatively to combine comfortable modern décor carefully selected Mid-century accents and a few curated woodsy furniture pieces. The result is a smart inviting and chic home where functionality and aesthetics go hand-in-hand.
